How Call in Studio Works / FAQ
Can I Accept Voicemails When I'm Not Accepting Live Calls?
Yes. When viewing your show/meeting configuration (click on My Shows and click on the show/meeting to configure), you have the option to select what happens when someone calls while you are not accept live calls, as follows:
OFFILNE SHOW/MEETING OPTIONS:
- 'Send Busy Signal' will do just that. Busy signals are free and this is the default action for all shows/meetings when they are created.
- 'Play Recorded Message' will play a message.
- 'Record a Voicemail' will play a greeting and prompt the caller to dial '1' to record a message.
- 'Record a Voicemail & Send Email' will also send you an email anytime a voicemail is recorded.
Standard inbound calling rates apply to all calls that play a message or record voicemail. Voicemails are stored in the 'VMs' section of the show/meeting configuration section. Links to configure messages and voicemail greetings are in this section as well.
You may also configure VOICEMAIL/OFFLINE MESSAGE SETTINGS in the 'VMs' section with the options to:
- Transcribe voicemails (transcription is free).
- Set a max recording length per voicemail (2 minutes by default, but can be configured between 30 seconds and 60 minutes).
- Require Caller ID (i.e., block anonymous callers)
- Limit total voicemail/offline message callers to a specified number for a specific period of time (e.g., one caller every 2 minutes, 25 callers/day, etc.).
- Do not allow the same caller more than a specific amount per a specific period of time (e.g., once/hour, twice/week, etc.)
- Perform caller name lookups on voicemails (3¢/call).
NOTE: All recordings are automatically deleted after 60 days.
